Sunny Isles Power Boat Series

Cody Unser will attend and participate in the offshore power boat series in Sunny Isles, Florida this week to secure more horse power for The Cody Unser First Step Foundation's Scuba Adventures programs.

Ellen Greenleaf, the event coordinator of OSS made this meeting possible for Cody after spending time together at this years Indy 500 and getting to know about the program.

"The OSS dive medic team are some of the best rescue divers on the planet…some have military backgrounds and I need them on our extreme dive trips where we take disabled wounded veterans into the great abyss on life changing scuba dives". When asked about driving an offshore boat Cody replied,

"If they let me, absolutely I am not turning that down. But I am more excited to watch the race. Lots of horse power, great paint jobs, just like motor racing only their track is the ocean".

The Cody Unser First Step Foundation is looking forward to connect with OSS for the new Operation Deep Down program, the military arm of Cody's Great Scuba Adventure.

We will be partnering with 21 year old Cody Unser and our extreme scuba dive/med/safety team, and would love to have you join us. http://www.cufsf.org/

OSS PRESENTS FORMULA PACE BOATS FOR THE SUNNY ISLES BEACH DON ARONOW MEMORIAL RACE WEEKEND

During the 1960 and 1970, Don Aronow launched, grew and sold several high performance boat companies. One of them that continues to produce World Class performance boats is Formula Powerboats. The Porter Family has kept the legend alive by continuing to strive for performance perfection, something that Don would be proud of today. Since this race weekend is a tribute to Don, it's only fitting that Formula Boats has partnered with OSS in order to be a part of this special weekend and bring two boats for pace boat duties.

OSS is proud to partner with Vic Spellberg and Formula Boats for the Sunny Isles Beach race weekend. Formula boats will be used to lead the races for both the Don Aronow Memorial Race to Bimini and back on Friday and the OSS races on Sunday. Formula will be displaying the two paceboats in Race Village situated in Haulover Park.

Formula has worked with OSS on past races and we are privileged to have them as part of the official race team. Vic Spellberg, director of Formula sponsor promotions states: "Formula is excited to participate in this great event, located right where offshore racing got its roots. The 2009 Formula 382 poker run boat will be the official pace boat for these events. It will lead the participants in the Don Aronow Memorial Offshore Ocean Race from the wet pit area, through Haulover Cut to the start of this exciting race to Bimini and back, a true test of offshore racing. Formula is providing a 382 and a 353 Fastech to serve as official pace boats for the entire weekend of OSS festivities. We look forward to being a part of this exciting weekend of offshore events and wish everyone safe racing".
